Department of Japanese Studies, University of Dhaka has received the prestigious Japan’s Foreign Minister’s Commendation Award yesterday. The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awarded to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and areas.

Department of Japanese Studies, University of Dhaka expresses deepest condolences at the demise of the former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and convey its sympathy to the bereaved family and the people of Japan. He’s been a true friend of Bangladesh. His joint statement with his Bangladeshi counterpart, Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in 2014 contains the contribution and prospect of the then Japan Study Centre, now Department of Japanese Studies towards strengthening Japan-Bangladesh relation.

Students of the Department of Japanese Studies (3rd Batch), University of Dhaka, visited “Gunze United Limited,” which is a Japan-Bangladesh joint venture company at the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) on March 24, 2022. It was a field visit for those students who have the course “Japanese Business Management and Communication.”
