Department of Japanese Studies, University of Dhaka expresses deepest condolences at the demise of the former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and convey its sympathy to the bereaved family and the people of Japan. He's been a true friend of Bangladesh. His joint statement with his Bangladeshi counterpart, Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in 2014 contains the contribution and prospect of the then Japan Study Centre, now Department of Japanese Studies towards strengthening Japan-Bangladesh relation.
