Abstract
The growing economic cooperation between Japan and Bangladesh serves as a strategic bridge for transferring advanced printing technology, fostering industrial development, and mutual growth. This study assesses the impact of transferring Japanese printing technology on the productivity and efficiency of Bangladesh’s printing industry, highlighting its role in strengthening bilateral ties. Grounded in Technology Transfer Theory and employing a qualitative research design, the results show that integrating Japanese printing technology has improved print quality, productivity, and efficiency, particularly benefiting small and medium-sized printing businesses. However, limited technical support, intense competition, and inadequate logistics hinder the diffusion of technologies in Bangladesh. The research also explains that this technology transfer can enhance human resource development through skill-sharing initiatives, expanding expertise in both nations’ printing industries. Furthermore, it has the potential to stimulate innovation, research, and business expansion, improving industrial capabilities and generating investment opportunities. Through these developments, the printing technology transfer from Japan to Bangladesh can potentially reinforce the bilateral relationship between these two countries by facilitating economic interdependence and capacity enhancement.
