The Department of Japanese offers a world of rich cultural exploration and academic excellence. The Department is dedicated to providing a transformative learning experience that equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the prominence of Japan and its global significance.<\/span><\/p>

At the core of our philosophy is a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Our esteemed faculty members bring a wealth of expertise and passion to their teaching, guiding students through a multidisciplinary curriculum encompassing Japan’s multidimensional study by understanding its politics, economy, society, language, and culture and conducting in-depth research. We take pride in nurturing students’ critical thinking abilities, intercultural understanding, and global perspectives.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Our state-of-the-art facilities, including a dedicated Japanese Language Lab and Computer Lab, ensure that students have access to cutting-edge resources for language learning, technological skills development, and research. We believe in a holistic approach to education, encouraging students to participate in extracurricular activities and student clubs actively and fostering personal growth, cultural exchange, and leadership skills.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Additionally, the Department has established valuable partnerships with prestigious organizations such as the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), the Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (JBCCI), Shaplaneer, the Bangladesh Ikebana Association, Rotary Public and the Kazuko Bhuiyan Welfare Trust. Further enriching the academic journey, the Department offers exchange programs with esteemed Japanese universities such as Sophia University, Kobe University, Kwansei Gakuin University, Nagoya University, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Shimani University, and Nara Women’s University. Notably, our students have the privilege of receiving prestigious Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarships for Master’s and Ph.D. programs and short-term scholarships for certificate and diploma programs in Japan. These collaborations provide our students with exceptional opportunities for employment, internships, scholarships, and exchange programs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

As the Chair, I am committed to our Department’s continuous growth and development. I envision our Department to emerge as a prestigious knowledge hub and a regional center of excellence for Japanese Studies, driving groundbreaking research and intellectual discourse on Japan’s intricate tapestry and its dynamic relationship with Bangladesh and the Asia-Pacific region.<\/span><\/span><\/p>
